Avid Media Composer Preperation Turnover
Transferring a project from Avid Media Composer to Adobe Premiere Pro
Prerequisites
Ingestion - Footage needs to be linked to the source media using AMA (Avid Media Access). Choosing “Import Media” with the intention of creating new MXF files does not maintain the original file and folder structure and will not be accepted.
For preferred Avid Workflow click here.
If you choose to transcode the media after linking it's important to “Relink” back to source material before exporting AAF’s.
2. Exporting AAF
Place IN and OUT marks on your sequence.
Right click on your sequence in your project window and select Output>Export to File.
Select “Options” to open the export settings window.
Change the “Export As” option to AAF. Check the “Use Marks”, “Use Selected Tracks” and “Include All Video/Data Tracks in Sequence.”
Export Method should be set to “Link to (Don’t Export) Media.” Then click “Save.”
3. Export Two Reference Cuts
Export a Quicktime with burnt in time-code
Export another Quicktime WITHOUT burnt in time-code.
Make sure that they are Apple ProRes (LT) and that “Video and Audio” are selected in the export settings.
